چکیده

Zinc and its alloy coatings are commonly used to provide cathodic protection for weathering steel. However, the steel substrate corrodes faster than coating because of coating's negative corrosion potential. Many studies have examined coatings' resistance corrosion. Hot-dip galvanizing, Electrodeposition, Zinc-rich coat (ZRC) spray just some methods that can be deposit such coatings. Commercially available 99.95 % pure oxide was in electroplating process this investigation. Steel samples were plated sulphate solutions controlled by different bath parameters as voltage, current, pH, temperature, time. The addition hexagonal Boron Nitride (h-BN) nanoparticles has also shown significant improvements resistance. Zinc-based techniques reinforced with h-BN incorporation show best current density (Icorr) Hot dip 2 wt. Corrosion resistance of monolayer hexagonal boron nitride on copper

Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) is a layered material with high thermal and chemical stability ideal for ultrathin corrosion resistant coatings. Here, we report the corrosion resistance of Cu with hBN grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Cyclic voltammetry measurements reveal that hBN layers inhibit Cu corrosion and oxygen reduction. We find that CVD grown hBN reduces the Cu corrosion rate b...

EFFECT OF PARTICLES CONCENTRATION AND CURRENT DENSITY ON THE COBALT/HEXAGONAL BORON NITRIDE NANO-COMPOSITE COATINGS PROPERTIES

Metal matrix composite coatings reinforced with nano-particles have attracted scientific and technological interest due to the enhanced properties exhibited by these coatings. Cobalt/hexagonal boron nitride nano-composite coatings were prepared by means of the pulse current electroplating from a chloride electrolyte on copper substrates and a comparison was made with the pure cobalt in terms of...

Corrosion resistance of Si-Al-bearing ultrafine-grained weathering steel.

In the Ultra-steel project at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), which run from 1996 to 2005, high-Si-Al-content ultrafine-grained (UFG) weathering steel was developed by grain refinement and weathering guidance. It was found that this steel has excellent strength, toughness and corrosion resistance. Samples were prepared by multi pass warm rolling at temperatures between 773 ...

TOPICAL REVIEW Graphene on Hexagonal Boron Nitride

The field of graphene research has developed rapidly since its first isolation by mechanical exfoliation in 2004. Due to the relativistic Dirac nature of its charge carriers, graphene is both a promising material for next-generation electronic devices and a convenient low-energy testbed for intrinsically high-energy physical phenomena. Both of these research branches require the facile fabricat...

Hexagonal boron nitride on transition metal surfaces

We validate a computational setup based on density functional theory to investigate hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) monolayers grown on different transition metals exposing hexagonal surfaces. An extended assessment of our approach for the characterization of the geometrical and electronic structure of such systems is performed. Due to the lattice mismatch with the substrate, the monolayers can ...
